Looking for experienced and knowledge in subwoofers and sealed vs ported subwoofer boxes. Current setup 2x 12" 400rms 1200 max Kenwood subs in a bassworks sealed box

Depends what you listen to. If you listen to a variety of genres, I'd go with ported. If you listen to rock/metal/etc then I'd go with sealed for the tightness.

I had the same subs and they sounded okay for two twelves.

Looking to upgrade my current sealed bassworks box to a ported box not sure what I should be looking at when it comes to a ported box aswell as price.

I listen to mainly hip hop rap

you can't just put any sub in any box.

you need to get the subwoofer models off the magnets(unless its fairly easy to identify based on cone looks) and then look up the suggested box size.

prices are different all over based on build quality etc etc. if they are just some entry level subs it'll probably be around $40-60 for a prebuilt ported box.

Those subs will sound better and louder in a ported enclosure (assuming you have the correct amp) but they're so cheap that they may not hold up for very long..
Not trying to be rude but, like I said, I had the same ones and I wasted the pair twice.

It's been 6 months in the sealed box pumping them to max still no issues. Ported may take away from speaker life?
