So recently my sub stopped working
It would cut out at random and cut back in
But now it just doesn't kick or anything, except maybe once a day one beat with hit from my sub then nothing else

My first thought was a loose wire, but I checked and all the wires seem to be fine..

Anyone might know the problem?

Nevermind, on the way back from work I drifted some corner and they turned back on..
We'll see how long it lasts

No idea why but I guess there's just magic in drifting

Its been grounded to the same ground for multiple systems without being moved and worked fine

a 100 watt system can be grounded to flimsy metal and possibly be alright but adding newer more powerfull systems to the same ground could be the cause of this. do what was asked if your gunna post q's here about a topic and refuse to listen then idk why u bothered in the first pace.

that indeed does sound like a bad ground possibly at the ground from the amp or at the amp itself . id pop out the subs from the box and make sure that the wires are still pretty well attached at or either the sub or the posts inside the box. i see alot of prefab boxed that have the flat posts that the wire connectors clip or slide over have isses at that spot. they either loose or not properly done right.

would ALSO help to let us know exactly what you have head unit how its setup pac convertor box from factory radio? how old are the power and ground wires? what size amp and subs power your running?

most of the people here have been doing ar audio for years and are well educated on this stuff.

also if your box is not secured and slides around a lot you are very likely to end up ruining wires and knocking stuff out of place.

you may have even separated something off the amps board if your power/ground wires have been tugging on the terminals.

i had the same problem. when i removed the ground lug i found some rust and corrosion under the lug. i cleaned it off the bond and put No-lux on it and havent had any problems.

no-lux is also called alumashield and penetrox. it is basically a highly conductive paste that highly inhibits corrosion or rust. if you wanna go all out you can even coat it in glyptol for a 100% fix

Troubleshooting is your solution. First I would check the ground, if everything is good the next thing I would look at it your remote wire. if you want to troubleshoot the remote simply take your + that goes to your amp and plug it into your remote as well, using a wire to bridge the two. (the remote is just a 12v current that gets current when you turn your radio on, the reason you dont usually bridge the positive to the remote slot on your amp is because it would always be on.) if the amp turns on and plays music then you have a problem with the remote along the way. (If there are any cuts in the wire that allow it to connect to the body of the car it will not work.) however if you bridge your + going to your amp to the remote slot on your amp and still nothing then check the + wire going from battery too amp for any issues. if there are no problems there... you may have a defective amp. oh and also make sure the wires going from amp to sub are connected properly as well.
