I got an 05 Nissan Altima. What can i do to make audio improvements for cheap?

I got a new car stereo awhile back. but thats it. if i get a few new speakers like 50 buck a piece, think thatd be a big different in quality? aftermarket speaker should be better right? although its a bose system in there, its still factory.

but idk, heard that if i get audio stuff in my car, that id need to do alot of shit with a new special battery and wires and such, otherwise it will fuk with the electrical stuff in my car?

if you just want regular speakers you dont need all that xtra stuff. does your steering wheel have audio controls and stuff? if you have a bose system you probably have a astock amp also that was bypassed for the new headunit. id just go buy some decent speakers, if you arent gunna get subs id get a good pair of 6*9 if your car takes them for the rear deck and depending on what size you have in the doors , it will sound better yea bose is bose but aftermarket always is better for audio. polk has some good speakers, cadence is alright also. can never go wrong with some american bass speakers either. its up to you, there is many different type of speakers, components etc. id hit up a car audio place or check online at sonicelectronics.com

forgot, i always heard with bose system, that if u change speakers to aftermarket then ur subwoofer wont work anymore, so ud need new woofer, and prob amp?

just get rid of that bose speaker system period. its crap compared to aftermarket, if you want a new amp and sub youll have to bypass the stock amp that you have, its not hard its just a ire harness. youll need a new amp if ou get a new sub, the stock amp wont be powerful enough to power your sub. i put 2 12's and a new amp in my brother jetta and he had the monsoon system, just had to use a in line rca convertor to add rcas . you could keep your eg speakers and just add subs if you want, its just up to you and what your budget is.

mainly just want to replace the speakers for now. but can i replace speakers only, and still keep the subwoofers and amp?

thought if i change speakers, the subwoofers wouldnt work anymore with the bose system?

they should work. i mean all your doing is connecting a signal again to a new speaker. they arent programed to run with just the bose, but really bose is good but again its got its flaws. it gets loud but the sound starts gettin distorted and mangled at higher volumes. honestly i would save up money and replace the hu and all speakers and get new sub with aftermarket amp for it. bose amp probably only putting out like 15 watts rms to each speaker at 2 ohm maybe. which imo isnt enough to run aftermarket speakers.

although ive heard that bose systems you cant put aftermarket speakers in with bose system because the speakers are 1 ohm and most speakers are 4 ohm. you will need to see the specs on the system you have before buying and installing. if i were you id hit a local car audio shop ask them what they think. you can adda hu to bose system no prblem but afterkarket speakers may be iffy. hope it helps. or you can just save money and rip out al bose and do all aftermarket which wil sound better than a brand new bose system at 1/3 the price.

depends on what you get .checkout sonicelectronics.com they have speakers headunits subs amps sub amp combos and offer warranties on everything you buy. taking it you like the sound of your current system with stock sub so im assuming you will want maybe just 1 sub that sounds good? you can get a good 10'' sub or a 12'' sub and a amp to power it for under $300, 2 sets of door speakers decent pair $60 or lower and a amp to power them for another $100+ , headunit are what you want, get the ones with the features youll use. and youll need a aftermarket wire harness to bypass your stock amp for a new hu. not sure which one youll need but you can ask a car audio shop or someone here will probably know. you can def get a nice sounding system for under $1k. just do some research

ok thanks. only issue, is i remember my mechanic telling me how hes seen alot of people with new audio systems that require a new, much better battery, and even with the new battery, the new audio equipment messes with the electrical stuff in the car? is this even possible ?

It all depends on how much your stock alternator output is, how much power you are drawing, if you have adequate gauge wiring, etc. etc.

There is TONS of info about this on the web but you will need to findout some info on your car first before you can have a good idea of how much power you can run without an issue.

Generally speaking if you are under 1000 actual watts you "should be fine" with a stock electrical system
