tried searching a bit but am little lost at this

first off i am proudly an owner of the 1990 LS400, i felt like i got it for a steal so i bought it!

anyways what i want to do w/ the audio but will take time since i want to research more etc.
heres my plans!

stereo: double din, already got that in hand but may upgrade to a better IDK YET!
front speakers: aftermarket idk what sizes fits but will research that!
rear speakers: aftermarket idk what sizes fits but will research that!
Subwoofer: aftermarket subwoofer

AMPS:
a 4channel to power all 4 speakers (or however many speakers are in this car)
a mono channel amp to power my subwoofer

my amp i already have from my old car: alpine mrp-f300 (50rms @ 4ohm per channel)
i had a mono channel amp alpine mrp-m500 (300rms @ 4ohm) but that blew/not working so searching for another one.

Questions:
1. how does a tweeter work? do people have tweeter play sounds and front door speakers subwoofer's?? or regular speakers plus tweeters?
(my car has a seperate tweeter so this is why im asking)

2. i use to own a civic and had this setup; all i had to do was mate the original factory stereo harness(pig tail) w/ a aftermarket harness(pigtail) then wire the aftermarket harness(pigtail) wires w/ the double din aftermarket stereo's harness(pigtail) (lmk if u can understand that, i can get some pictures to show what i mean on this part) can i do something similar to this OR i have to get the beat-sonic kit thingy thats like 250 bucks...

3. i see theres a pre-mount for the factory subwoofer, should i get a aftermarket sub to replace the factory subwoofer AKA NO BOX or get a sub w/ a box

4. should i get another battery PRIMARILY for the amps itself? or is that a waste?

QUESTIONS:
to my knowledge beatsonic (200+ equipment, lmk if u want me to link you to wat i am talking about as ive looked on clublexus.com about this and they say i may need this beatsonic) is only if you want to keep your stock/factory speakers and subwoofers but aftermarket stereo correct? THIS IS MY MAIN CONCERN! help!!!!
what do i do w/ tweeters? is there aftermarket tweeters?
can i remove the stock subwoofer and amp?


how would i go about wiring the amplifier, do i chop up the stock amp wires(aka splice a power, ground wire, and remote wire) and wire it w/ my aftermarket amp's or do i wire up my amp's like there was never a stock amp already?

aka:
get like a long power wire / run it from battery to amp
get like a long remote wire / run it from my aftermarket indash to amp
get liek a mediocre ground wire / find a ground somewhere on my chasis

OR splice up stock amp wire (not totally cut off but just chop a part of the plastic leaving the stock amp harness (piggytail still intact) and wire it meaning SHORTER wires / less headache tearin my car up to wire the power and remote wire?

you shouldn't need anything other than the wiring harness, dash kit and maybe antenna adapter.

normal door speakers have tweeters. just unhook the stock tweeters and ignore them unless you want to go through extra trouble for no real reason.

you can remove all the factory amps/speakers/subs and speaker wire if you feel like it.

no you'll want to ignore all the stock speaker wiring since you are install your own 4 channel amp. you'll need to order new speaker wire to do this.

as for the power/ground/remote wires you'll get new ones when you order wiring kits.

http://www.knukonceptz.com/ KCA series wiring kits are good for the money. you'll also order new speaker wire from here as well. 10 or 12 gauge speaker wire would be a good choice.

any good for amp'ing speakers? if so suggestions on speakers? from sonicelectronic the speakers are 4"
id liek to stick w/ alpine if they have good 4" speakers, otherwise any will be fine
budget for all 4 speakers is 100-200 total

that amp is fine if you want to keep using it.

you're going to need to take off the panels and see what sizes actualyl are. metra/sonic/crutchfield are all showing difference sizes.

if it is 4s...modify to fit 6.5s if you want to get the most for your money.

ok the 4" speakers arent good at all?

i read that someone had put 6.5inch speakers into the ls400 before

so can u suggest me some good speakers?

hopefully 100-150 but can go 200

if you are wanting the speakers to have some bass then ya 4 inches are a waste of time.

if you want to do components there are lots of ways to go but i figured the ones i linked keep it simple.

idk if i can fit 6 3/4th id have to actualyl get the speaker and cut it out myself

shud i risk it to get the bisket? (aka buy it n hope i can fit it or maybe stick w/ 6.5's and lower?)

i dont need bass, i got my subwoofer for that already. so pure vocals is needed!

also subwoofer is there any good alpine speakers? or is there better

your subwoofer should only cover 20-120hz at most. you still need these speakers to do the midbass which is why it matters. without them doing that your music sounds bad.

adapting 6.5s and 6.75s is pretty much the same.

go check out the speaker slots before going further if you want to get an idea of what you're going to have to do.

ya alpine type s 6.5s are a reasonable option. the rockfords however are going to offer more midbass since it has more surface area.

there are lots and lots of options in 6.5/6.75s but those rockfords are a good option in your price range. hard to say whats "best" overall.
