So I recently bought an 01 Civic Ex off of a somewhat close friend of mine.

He had a pretty nice sound system in it, but wanted an extra $940 with it included; I opted out and had him replace the stock speakers, take out the amp and sub.

The head unit is upgraded but that is it the rest is the Alpine Ex speakers. He left all the wiring in the car, so I want to put in my own equipment. He had a shop charge him like $800 to install it. Fuck that I'm mechanically inclined enough to do this myself.

What I need of you is to identify each wire and let me know what is used for what. Please, I'm sure I can google it but I figure y'alll are much more knowledgeable then me viewing pictures and comparing.

If you need better pictures I can supply them, I took this quick with my iPhone before work.

......... a wire is a wire technically. red wire is probably the power wire, big blue wire is probably ground, smaller greenish bluish wire is more than likely the remote wire, the 2 wires that are connected together are the speaker wires. imo take out all that junk. and replace with new.. that dude is an idiot what the hel;l shop did he pay to nstall that messy wire and not even clean the ground spot, in fact that is the ugliest ground ive ever seen.

I mean it all functions properly.

I don't care about how cool it looks just wants to know what to use for what.

Guess I'll just buy the amp and subs and figure it out, thanks for the post.

Red is gonna be your hot, blue is gonna be ground and the small blue is remote. All you need to do is straighten them out and make sure they are intact before hookin up a new system, and I suggest something small maybe 500w amp and 2 10''

Dis is why i lub you.

And that's the size I was thinking, nothing too serious I just want a little bit more yanno

Single channel or what

I believe I have a 4x 50w rn as stock running from my head unit.

So addint a 500w amp to w 10's and tweeters won't be too much stress?

Shouldn't be, and I've always done dual channel and bridged the subs but then again I always ran 1200 w amps and comp 12's, usually Kickers or Xplods

oh and you dont want to use a amp for subs to poweer your tweeters or reg speakers. get a different amp for that 1000 watt 2 channel amp for doors and tweeters is fine and you can find cheap amps online.

lol @ these guys,

that fat blue one is your ground since its bolted down.
skinny blue one looks like remote wire.
and the two darker wires are spreaker wire.
