Subwoofers Aren't Playing Since Today - Topic

A guy at my work tuned my amp a bit today and later after work I was driving around and all of a sudden my amp went into protect mode, I turned my deck off and on and it went to protect mode after a few moments still. Now it's not in protect mode but the subs won't play.

Can anyone tell me what the fuck this guy might've done to fuck it up

I hope next time you just take it to a car audio shop and tip the guy ten bucks to do it right.

Disconnect your RCAs and speaker wire from the amp (so that only B+, GND and rem are hooked up)
Turn the car on.
If the amp goes into protect, then it's fucked.

Also I'd start by turning the gain and bass boost down to like 50%.
Make sure the switch is on LPF (not full or HPF).
See to it that the LPF knob is around 70-100.

Outputs on the amp are blown or the subs are blown.
Do you know how to use a multimeter?

How would the subs be blown already?? I've had them for a month or less.
I don't have a multimeter

If you have an extra speaker of any kind laying around, hook that up to your amp. If everything is hooked up correctly and the speaker doesn't play then you probably need a new amp..

I don't have a speaker to hook to it. Nor do I know anyone with one really.
Isn't the amp supposed to go into protect mode to protect the speakers..?

If you crank up the gain or add on a booster it gives it a really dirty kind of bass that can blow a sub pretty easily lol, and if you fried one of the subs if it's running say 1 ohm stable, it won't play at all.

What did he turn up? You shn't he pounding on brand new subs anyways. They take some timto get broken in. What kind of amp and subs do you have?
