well was drivin to the store and amp went into protect. turned off hu and turned it back on and it came back on again with green light indicator on bass control knob. but when i turned t up again the same thing happened. so i left it off for a few mins turned it back on and it was playng fine, left my moms to cme hme and i was playin my system. the bass doesnt seem to hit at all anymore its like 1 12 is playing only. but they are both working and only goes into protect when knob is all the way turned up and plays for a few secs. thought maybe the fuse was blown but i have 2 fuses 1 from main battery to 2nd battery and one frm 2nd battery to amp. so i would think if one of those were blown it wouldnt work, ? unless the fuse from main battery to 2nd battery is blown and my amp is running of of the 2nd battery which is not getting any juice from alt. if something was messed up on the amp i would think that the subs wouldnt play at all right? lmk what yall think. i havent had time to look at it its dark now. just want an idea maybe on what could be goin on.

Check your power wire for burn marks if its corroded or broke ur amp will work but shut off and protect wh3n u turn it up.

it kinda seems like what used to happen to me all the time id blow a fuse with my other system and the cap would read like 6-8 volts and it wouldnt hit. but would only hit for a few secs. so hopefully its a fuse. wish i had installed my volt meter or cap when i put this system in. would probably have some kind of idea

yea ill check that. when i got back from where i was comein back to my moms from i opened the trunk and it looked like some smoke and smelled funny. but i had a cig in my hand and my head in the trunk so i dunno if it was actually burnin wire or not.

Its more likely to be a bad ground or bad power wire than fuse check th3 wire near ur batteries its most likely to happen there if its burnt or snagged itll do what u described seen it more times than I can count.

well i have the 2 grounds one from amp and the spare battery ground to the actual neg on the maion battery and the 2nd ground from my amp is ground to the chasis where the main battery is grounded to. since my stock battery is in the trunk. made everything easy. all the ground are at the at most best spots to be grounded to. and the wires and everything is only 9 months old. so i would doubt its bad wire or bad ground. i know my amp would go into protect every once in a while because its pulling so much more power than my alt can currently give out. my lights dim like hell. so every once in a while at high volume and bass slammin it would cut off. but yea ill check that also too, tomarrow.
