So I ended up getting a new h/u the other day.. It was the cheapest model sold at Best Buy in the store because I was fed up with my old one being broken.
It came to $63 with tax lol! ( cheaper than my old one.) and it's a million times clearer. It has 5 EQ settings instead of just my old bass/mid/treb, and gives a lot more trim options on the sub as well as other components.
Since upgrading my car doesn't shake and sound like it'll fall apart, and I'm in love with my system again lol.

My next question would be what to upgrade next.

My door speakers are pioneer 3-way 6.5" round, and the back deck speakers are the same product just the 6x9 version, the tweeters I have are stock ones from 10 years ago ( car made in 2003 ).
Would I see better results out of getting new tweeters first? Or should I run an amp to my door speakers? Or would you recommend I get rid of the 3-ways and get a comp set of new tweets/mids for the doors and rear deck?

If I end up running another amp I'll have to upgrade my power supply.. but if that's what I have to do then that's what I have to do.

As always, thanks for the help everyone!

I have an 03 civic if that helps or means anything in the way of upgrading.

Okay, I had thought about that because I didn't know if getting new tweeters would be cost-effective compared to what else I want/need.
Right now they're getting roughly 15 RMs watts from the h/u , so should I get like a 4-channel 400W RMS amp or something like that? I don't need a high-output one, correct?

depends on the rms of ur speakers you have now.. you also need to look at the ohms of your speakers... so if your speakers are 4 ohm 50rms then you would want a amp that puts out 50 rms @ 4 ohms per channel..

i have the exact same speakers in my girls 03 civic and I have a rockford fosgate p400.4 on them and it sounds pretty damn good for what it is.

Ok, I know they can handle up to like 100W or 200W rms, I forget which. But I do not know the ohms. I'll look into it :)
Still open to other options/opinions of course!

yeah it all depends on how much you want to spend.. but I think you will be happy with amping the door speakera and back deck. also make sure that headunit has rcas for amp out.. sometimes those cheap units dont have any kind of expandability.

and if u wait awhile everyone else will be on.. alot of these people are into sound quality and may know more about it. I just like to get loud lol.. also make surebyou check out craigslist instead of buying brand new.. you can find awesome deals from people needing money.

Fuck, ya, I just remembered the h/u I bought has 1 RCA out. I was like "well I only have one amp.. soo whatever".
But you can purchase adapters to run other amps off can't you? I feel like my friend had one.

you can buy a Y cable and turn it into 2 sets but sound quality goes way down and you loose some of your settings.. its not a good way to go at all but you can do it.

Damn ok, I have a few friends I can probably sell the h/u to when the time comes for pretty much what I paid for it. ( only 63 bucks , I wanted something cheap and incredibly functional, it'll work for now lol)

So now it's looking like:
>bigger alternator
>new head-unit with RCA hookup
>amp for door speakers
