I recently bought a car, its a 2000 pontiac grand prix Gtp.. and the previous owner put two 3 by 9's in it that are rated at 1000 watt's. if i re wired them with an amp, and put a new deck in would these bump pretty hard? I dont know the brand, im going to take them out tomorrow morning to get the specs to get the right kit for it. If anybody has a rough idea please let me know, and if anybody knows a good amp to buy that would be cool, im looking to spend 100-250 on a deck, and 200-300 on an amp.

3 by 9s?
before this goes any further i'd need to know the exact model of the subs and not just whatever speakers you think they are.

previous owner sounds like a jerk lol. chances are they are junk since i can't even imagine why he told you they are 3 by 9s.

ya, never heard of 3x9's and ive spent a lot of time over the last few weeks lookin at some speakers for mine

i dont use an amp so makes no diff to me
but ya, if your plannin on subs get a h/u with enough preouts
seeing as its the only one i had, i cant comment on others but i would recommend pioneer
