the ones that cost $5 at the shops

no joke, mine have lasted forever and reproduce sound fine, i think they're sony or phillips or some shit.

if you want sound quality get a home audio system... ipods are meh.

people who buy beats are retarded anyway...

what does it matter? Just buy some headphones..

$1.36 + free shipping

/Edit: I would buy a pair of the new style ones that have the small buds and big rubber piece that slides in your ear like an earplug.

Absolutely do not buy these. I made the same mistake, picked up 4 pairs cause I always seem to break/lose/step on ear buds. The bottom rim on the 3.5mm plug is too big and none of my devices (macbook pro, ipod, or thunderbolt) even detect the presence of the headphones.

The sound is distorted and not full range like when they aren't plugged in all the way, even when they are as far as they go

They used to be $4.92 shipped and those ones worked grrreat! I still have a pair from like a year ago.
I am guessing since cheaper price it much be a cheaper product.

You can get some fairly cheap Sennheiser, and they are okay.
If you like music, stick with AKG 271 mk II
