I have aftermarket alpine speakers in my back they have always worked fine I don't over work them or anything ever. But recently I was driving home from work playing music loud when I kinda heard this high pitched crackly noise
I barley heard it at first because of my subs. I started asking my self is that part of the song i was listening to? ha so I turned down my music. The noise was as loud as it was before.
I then muted my volume AND paused my ipod. The noise was still coming threw. ( the noise is like a high pitched chirp. then some like crackly. almost like a cd skipping.) its pretty consistant within like 3 seconds from each other. and it only makes it when my car is moving..
The speakers are defintely not blown. and when Im playing music when this noise is happening it doesnt distort my music at all. just plays with it pretty much. Im thinking that maybe its a short or bad wiring some where with my speakers? but I never had a problem with it before. I unplugged one. noise was still there. unplugged the other and same result. so it has to be wiring? they would have to be wires that eventually would come together for the noise to happen when I unplug both of the speakers.

Pretty long read sorry. and probably really confusing. if you have any idea what this could be let me know throw ideas out.

and are they amp'd?

It happens in all of them even radio. and I have had them for over 2 months. came home from work and it happened half way home now everytime I start it up and start movie it does it. only way it stops is if I turn my whole deck off. Like i said it plays this noise even when its on mute and ipod is paused. or radio muted. and They are hooked up to this little amp thats cased in metal that came in the car with the stock speakers. But I wasn't the one who put the alpines in.

Could be a grouping issue. Just throwing that suggestion out there. Could set your low pass on the speakers?

going to be bad wiring somewhere.

Yeah it has to be with that little amp thing. cause now i disconnected both of them. and sense that makes it so there is 0 current going threw it, it doesn't make the noise anymore. but if one or the other is plugged in the noise bangs like a mother fucker haha. im gonna check it all tonight after my 12 is up.

rotate through your balances and fades and see if the noise changes at any extreme. if nothing happens when doing this, its a ground loop. Factory amps are a pain. May check a junk yard but I would just get a real amp.

How would I fix the ground loop? just find which one is causing it and reground it? and I have an amp thats powering my Type e's.. But if I could just fix this problem that just happened after the 15 years my car's life that thats cool too haha.
