just looking for ideas, I drive a 2007 ranger ext cab so i don;t really have much room, i miss the bass from my old car so im wondering whats the best (convenient) way to keep the room in the cab but get one of two subs back there?
alos not looking for those shitty self powered bazooka subs or anything like that

Also do you know someone that can cut wood and glue it together? if so I can offer a cut sheet for a box that will rock your socks :-p I'd suggest going sealed depending on the room you have are you looking for SQ or SPL or both? I need to know a little more before I get started.

Depends how much room you want to take up, aka if you wanna take up the whole back seat, under the seat, or behind the seats.

Might just wanna stick to some shallow mount speakers like Rockford Fosgate P3-S, 10's or 12's.

I'd recommend Level 2 8's or Sundown 8's or the Sundown Shallow Mount 10's, not a big fan of rockford. But your budget will decide what you end up with, if you need everything for cheap then you might have to resort to the rockfords it all depends on how you want to run it and how loud you want to be and your budget.

If you go sealed you save space and gain SQ but sacrafice SPL. If you go ported you're more limited on where you can put the subwoofers and the type/amount you can use but you will yield better SPL. If you want something seriously loud and don't have a low budget and don't care about space go with 2 ported 12's or 15's. It's all variable.

i do prefer boxes with no ports and i do still want full access to both of my back seats

It's called a Sealed but and if you still want your back seats then under the seats is your best bet. Those Shallow Mount Rockfords should be plenty to add a little kick. It doesnt seem like you're going the SPL route.

I honestly prefer blowthroughs in trucks but NEVER on someones first try those bitches are hard to do right without ruining the truck. He said he wanted sealed though so I doubt hes going to do a blowthrough.

well, I'd suggest a truck box. I run a single 12" kicker in a box 3" top 5-6" bottom behind the seat on a reg cab toyota pickup. (people look at me like where the hell is that coming from?)
I could stuff 2 in there but the budget said no. On the upside it's a great pickup line (no pun intended) to say "hey, want a sonic back massage?"
