you're also going to need a new box.

and if you are just now running it at 1 ohm you are probably going to run into electrical system issues.

more subs in this power range:
http://www.audioque.com/SDC-25-Series-Subwoofers_c_14.html
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/search_new.php?action=search&keyword=p3d4

if you buy a prefab ported box its going to be around $100 with shipping.

also hellish why not buy sundown from http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/categories/Sub-Woofers/Sundown-Audio/SA-Series/ ?

The SDC's are great but after shipping they're going to cost about the same as Sundowns and I'm not a huge fan of SDC's imo they have pretty bad SQ and don't take much over-rated but you will save $50 bucks or so buying them. and I didnt know SSA offered free shipping thanks for the heads up.

Also I ran 1.2K on stock electrical and it was fine with minimal dimming. The cheapest upgrade he can do is a Big III which should minimize dimming and help power flow but technically anything under 2k will run on stock power. Although I do recommend a better in the near future something like the XS D1200 or XS D3400 and 0/1 big III.

with the 10s you get 2 shipped for $300 which leaves him money for a box.

True I'm used to building my own boxes and suggesting builds to those who can so I'm not used to it costing more than $50. haha I know I recommend the Sundowns a lot but for the money they can't be beat easily. He said he wanted to spend $400 on subwoofers so I linked him to $400 subwoofers also he said he wanted 12's not 10's...

ya they aren't bad its just hes not very clear about what hes doing so i'd rather cover the bases.

if hes building or buying a new box on a separate budget then they will do the job if he wants them. i'd probably grab sdc 15s mainly because i can go to their store in okc and pick them up lol.

there is also the Fi ib3 series in this price range but the build time is a hassle.

For the price of the IB3's he would be better off with the Sundowns even though I love Fi they are one of the more expensive brands on the market. If you can go pick them up the AQ's are definatly the best route for the cost my brother runs a SDC 2.5" off 800wrms and it got pretty loud but he just sold it and bought the new M2 DC level 3 and imo the SQ and loudness was almost doubled. Both are good choices it just comes down to money and whether he has to build a box or not plus shipping varies so if he's further than me from AQ he will be paying more.
