Looking to add some speakers into my car as the ones that are in it are just not very good.

1: What is the Year, Make, and Model of the vehicle.
'97 Grand Am

2: What is your budget?
$100-$150 usd

3: What exactly do you want your outcome to be? (Good sounding music, or loud bass?)
Good sounding music, decent bass.

4: And specific sub sizes that you prefer more than others?
no subs needed, just speakers

5: How much trunk space do you want to use up?
see #4

6: What type of features are you looking for in a CD Player (aka Head Unit)? (Ex: USB, AUX, BlueTooth, etc)
I have a Cassette --> Aux that I use, considering replacing the stereo as well

7: What type of music do you listen to?
Rock/Metal, some Dub

8: Is your stock stereo system amplified? (You may or may not know this)
No, still all dealer stock (got car from my grandma so ya...)

9: Do you have Steering Wheel Controls? (Volume/Seek on the steering wheel)
nope

i have lots more, but im not gonna spend that much on it because when i was at the store earlier, they had some good 6x9's for like $60 as well, just wanted to get some input here as well and see what other people think works good.

rockford fosgate is going to be one of the best choices you can go for. they have a really good quality to price ratio.

you need a new head unit more than you need a second pair of speakers. head unit is the heart of your audio system.

If they`re 4x6 I`d consider looking at plate speakers...they`re more like components than 2 ways.

When I was looking for speakers for my jeep (4x6 as well) I settled on a pair of these: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/Speakers/Special-Application/TS-P462

I got them for like $50 off eebay IIRC...should be able to find them somewhere besides Pioneer for cheaper.

Infinity and Boston Accoustics makes plate speakers as well.

OK, well I'm decided on speakers
Front: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Kenwood+-+6-1/2%22+3-Way+Car+Speakers+with+Polypropylene+Cones+(Pair)/9764357.p?skuId=9764357&productCategoryId=pcmcat223000050008&id=1218169463461
Rear: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Sony+-+6%22+x+9%22+3-Way+Speaker+with+HOP/Aramid+Fiber+Cones+(Pair)/1982098.p?skuId=1982098&productCategoryId=pcmcat223000050008&id=1218304514978

But still Would like to get a stereo for under like $100. I saw subwoffer and night 's suggestions, but just want to see what else there is out there?
the only things im really looking for is an aux jack (for my mp3) and enough output for the speakers listed above
