never really learned how to serve properly since I just like to rally with friends

honestly, i learned my own serve by watching pete sampras serve over and over

I'm not a good server either, but I rally forever.

My lord this is such a useless forum, over a month old thread still on first page.

This! ive been trying to mirror sampras' serve, but mine isnt nearly as good

theres a lot of styles... first focus on the toss... alot of players use a high toss. you can either throw it over your head, out in front of you but even with the baseline, or out into the court a bit. ppl like isner toss it out in the court a bit and jump up into it and thats how they get so much power. dont focus on hitting it hard at first focus on just getting good contact and most importantly a good consistent toss
