Really didn't look good. Guy is an athletic freak who just doesn't have the mental game. He can serve, he can hit groundstrokes. Hell he even has decent volleying technique, but he chooses random times to be aggressive approach the net(often too late, and out of position). I'd at least like to see the underdog get his chance at the US considering he's now 0-7 at it instead of seeing Roddick make it another round or two before he meets somebody with an overall better game than him and he breaks down and starts throwing shit around.

I remember watching Roddick for the first time... it was insane... his serve was really unreturnable. This was of course way before people had learned to handle his serve like today. (Not sure if they made the balls bigger since he first became a professional?)

anyway, I don't get that excited to see him play anymore, it's a bit too boring, too straight forward, doesn't feel like there's much thinking involved in his gameplay.

Apparently the media has latched onto this as well, but after the match he was doing an interview and he said something along the lines of, "Being an analyst is the easiest job ever. I could be an analyst after I retire. If something I do works out, you guys praise it and say how I'm finally back, if it doesn't work out you tell me how bad I am, and how I should have done the opposite." Kinda funny, except McEnroe was calling him out all night, even when he was winning points, about how he could have done something better to make it more convincing or easier on himself. Typical Roddick trying to deflect criticism. He's passionate though, I'll give him that...

Not sure if I'd go that far lol. Down time in American tennis(men's at least) for sure, it should be looking up soon though.
