There is a tennis court at the local high school. It is open to public after school closes. Any pointers or where I should start first? I've never played before.

i would start with lessons, because it is always good to learn the proper mechanics before your develop irreversible bad habits. If you dont wanna fork over 45 bucks for a private lesson, try taking group lessons where its only about 10 bucks a person

don't you know anyone who plays tennis? doesn't have to be competitively but well enough to know the basic techniques...

that way you can get some basic lessons for free (if it's a good friend)... i know plenty of my friends who keeps asking me if i want to play some tennis with them, and trust me, they cant play for shit but i still find it funny and i never say no to them either so yea... else just start playing in a group in the tennis club if u dont wanna spend huge amounts of cash on a private coach... if u go unto the court without any pre-knowledge then it's pretty pointless... obviously you'll still have fun but if you want to actually improve long-term then u need some lessons.
