I am joining a tennis league for the first year ever. (Been playing for about 5 years with friends.)

I need a long midsize intermediate level racquet that allows for a high level of control. I can provide the power myself.

I'd prefer one with higher flexibility and normal grip size for a male.

The racquet has to fit into normal regulation play rules.

This is also going to be used on hardcourt only.

Midsize I believe is the size that provides optimal control?

My swings are usually flat and I don't put a lot of spin on my forehand. I have a stronger flat serve and I am working on a topspin backhand.

Second serve is weak, I don't have enough technique to ensure I can get a decent one in so I just kinda put it in with some pace.

1 hand backhand.

check out the babolat pure storm team. it's a 100 inch, but mid/oversize rackets imo are better for amateurs.

Will do, any recommendations on strings? I am planning to order from tennis warehouse and they have a plethora of strings to choose from. Also how much tension?

The only way to tell if you will like a racket or not is to try them. So, try a variety and see what you like. See if you like light rackets (most beginners do) or heavy rackets.
See if you like mid size or oversize or smaller. Most beginners are in the mid size to oversize range.
Grip size is completely a matter of person preference. Average grip size for a male is 4 3/8

As for strings, if you break strings often you might want to look into hurricane or a mix of something like luxlon big banger and a normal synthetic.
If you dont break strings much, you are probably fine with a normal synthetic gut

Actually the growing trend has been towards thinner grips.

I'd check out pro hurricane strings for a decent balance/durability.

Big banger blows, don't ever get it.
