As the greatest of all time. Personally, I think he has the endurance, will and mentality to do just that. However, just because he has a strong mind, doesn't mean his body will hold up for the length of his career. Federer avoided injury for so much of his career... only if Nadal can somehow find a way (which is difficult to do with his play style), will he be in with a shot. That's my take.

Nadal defenitly has the talent and endurance, is just his knees.
They havent bothered him lately though, so who knows.

Well he will need at least 3 more years and has to win at least 3 grand slams per year then.. I doubt it

Many are putting him up for discussion, but if both men retired today, yes he'd be considered GOAT by almost almost everyone who mattered in Tennis. Some announcers were quick to jump the gun in calling him the greatest, and then Nadal came along so they're holding their breath on both of them until they both are retired.

Nadal needs to alter his game in order to last as long as Federer will. His game is very hard on his body.

This.

Everytime he seems like he's on top and doing really well... his body breaks down on him. But don't count Federer out just yet. I'm sure he'll win a few more slams along with Nadal.

For sure.

As far as the endurance argument goes for Nadal, as you get older you require MUCH less practice. This means less time spent on the court which equals less strain on his knees.

If Fed retires in before he turns 32, I'd say Nadal has a great shot to pass him. His game has morphed so incredibly well to other surfaces besides clay.

You guys talk about it like Federer is done winning majors...

I still see him winning 3-4 more before he's done. He likely has a good 2-3 years in him and im not sure of the stats but since his first major has he ever gone a calendar year without winning at least one?

For at least the next 3 years and probably for a much longer time there is no doubt he is the best player of all time, it's not really an opinion. Sampras, björn borg, agassi and many more even say he is the best. Nadal is only at half the number of grand slams of Federer. He has the highest number of grand slams, a career grand slam, and the longest time on the #1 position.

I think Federer can win 2 more grand slams, 1 per year probably.
