Which country will be, for lack of a better word, excelling in tennis?
Based on their current youth/mid 20 players, seeing as most of the top players are now in late twenties/ thirties

For me, it would be USA and Russia
Usa has Isner(kind of), Querry, Sock, Harrison, and so on, As well as players like King, Oudin, and so on.

Russia always seems to have people lurking, coming out at random times. So im sure we'll se a few players from Russia coming into the top twenty soon

For Males it looks like the USA is pulling away.

Russia for the Females no doubt.

Russia looking strong, Youzhny, Davydenko and of course with the ladies' tennis they're always strong.

Not as enthousiastic about the US tennis players as some of you guys. I'm not really expecting a top 5 or top 10 ranking from Fish, querrey or Isner and I feel Roddick's career is nearing it's end. Sam thing for the Williams sisters sort of.

Spain looking strong, just see how many players they have in the top 50 or so, its crazy.. Nadal, Verdasco, Ferrer, Almagro, montanes, Ferrero, etc.. all are big names.

In Women's tennis it's very hard to tell. Russia's always got a couple of strong players but the fact that the older players (williams, Clijsters, henin) are still dominating shows there haven't been any real upcoming players.

Alot of the players you mentioned though are like 28. 29. They probably wont be along much longer.
Womens though it seems as if all these top players, clijsters, williams, henin etc will be around for a few more years, even though they're pretty old.

I think they're talking about up and comers, not how it looks right now. You're right about Spain dominating right now, but 10 years down the road will they have players to replace all the great top 50 they have right now? US will be down for a couple more years, but I think our juniors will be showing up in a big way sooner or later.
