Exactly. His elite play made it not close. Straight sets is not close. It was dramatic and could have gone either way, but it wasn't close.

Uh, did you watch the match? Federer hardly pounded him. Neither of them even broke until the 3rd set. Roddick lost 2 tough tiebreaks.

Well, Federer now plays Davydenko in his next match, and I am rooting for Davydenko... but I think Davy's like 0-9 against Federer, and while I love his playing style, I don't think he's got what it takes to beat Federer, especially the way he's been playing.

It was a great match, but it was straight sets. That classifies as a pounding in my book. I know Roddick had a chance to win the first two, but he didn't.

Now that Nadal is out, Davydenko is the only one that can beat Federer, although he usually doesnt play his best tennis against Federer.
