So Novak Djokovic is the best player ever in terms of success. No question.

But is he also the Greatest Player of All Time? The one with the biggest impact on the sport? Did people watch with open jaws in disbelief what he is doing?

I say no. He grinded his way to the top. Again, he is the best. I dont deny it.

But in my opinion Roger Federer has another aura around him. His name is greater than Novaks. His influence and impact on tennis was bigger.
His game was full of grace and effortless beauty, his technique flawless and his talent unmatched.

Nadal and Djokovic however both got the better of him. They played a more stable, more powerful game. They used their incredible two-handed backhands to do damage on both ends and carved their way through Roger. And I respect that.

But its not the same. What they do is not what he did. I say Roger Federer is the Goat.

Djokovic isnt stylish at all. Hes a baseline zombie with a subpar, unnatural volley and a subpar overhead.

Again, I dont deny that Djokovic is the best player. Just read my Headline, dude.

Most of Djokovic's success has come after Federer and Nadal's dominance. And considering he's essentially the same age as Nadal, it's odd that he couldn't hang and compete for Major titles during their primes.

You wanna call Djokovic the GOAT? Sure, but don't discount Federer or Nadal's claim. Sampras, Laver and Borg also can easily be in those conversations.

Sampras, Laver and Borg lack the wins to be in this conversation imho. Its just the Big 3. Thats about it.

The bar will always be raised.

Pros only even started competing in the circuit in the late 60's...

Sampras' marks smashed previous marks and he retired at 31? Had he needed 20 ish Majors to sit atop you'd best believe he'd have played at least a couple/few more years.

Laver was of the open-era transition, having played a 1/4 of his career outside of the tour. Borg's sheer dominance of such polarizing play at the French and Wimbledon are what solidify him.

Its not the Big 3s fault that these guys didnt play long enough or didnt have enough oportunities to win more. Fact is, they didnt win more. Doesnt matter why they didnt win more. Not at all.
