I honestly can't believe anyone is a fan of Nadal, he has the most boring playing style ever.

Short ball - Hits it, Runs back to the baseline
Federer is 5 kilometers behind the baseline - No dropshot, deep topspin ball

Can he even play a slice ball ? Or a fast serve? All his shots have topspin -_- Enjoy a slow defensive game and wait until the other player makes an unforced error, Great! So predictable.

By the way, this has nothing to do with Federer losing (70% serious)

I personally enjoy great defensive players.

Well he got lots of his points by winning tournaments, but he's not nearly as stylish as roger of course so he shouldn't be #1 -_-

It's not that he doesn't deserve to get #1... It's just that it's somehow cooler to play a "if you win today you'll be #1"-match rather than sitting home on your couch and watching two other players decide whether you should become #1 or not.

And fucking learn French nadal, you win there enough you should have picked it up by now.

Fed outclasses you 1000 to 1

A rather quality encounter on clay, I was a bit surprised. Federer's backhand held up well, but he made a lot of poor tactical decisions. That slice was working very well but I don't think Federer used it to the full effect today. Had Federer won that first set, could of been an even more interesting affair, but him losing 7 games in a row afterwards is the story of his life against Rafael. Congrats to Rafael for getting to double digits in the Grand Slam count, but watch out for Federer in the next few months. If he can continue to play this way there is no reason why he can't win Wimbledon/US Open because his serve and groundstrokes are working almost 2004-2007ish level on clay! His serve was a bit sketchy in the final, but that is normal as he doesn't really spin it in like Nadal so any signs of nervousness or lapse in concentration will screw him up.

Decent match but being a fed fan im slightly disappointed. fed played well, but couldnt finish the point when it mattered. Also, he seemed to go nuts after nadal made a great scramble or two to save the point and fed would lose that point and the next 3 (especially in the last set)

hopefully fed can bring it at wimbledon. id like to see him win at least one or two more

Yes, but Federer is a once in a lifetime kind of genius/talent, we can't expect that type of play from everyone now can we B) Nadal's mental strength in a single match is still very commendable, although I would say at each of their peaks, Federer was better mentally in general throughout a year while Nadal is probably a bit better mentally in one single match.

this is one of those matches that i sincerely hope to never watch again, just because of how painful the what ifs are, especially at this advanced stage of rogers career

same goes for the 09 federer/roddick wimbledon final. almost gagged during the 2nd set tiebreak, and then to make matters worse andy sort of came back, won the 4th, and had 2 break points deep in the 5th. obviously andy is nowhere near the player roger is, but on that day he gave it everything and played the match of his life and lost, when he probably should have won.

slightly off topic, but yea, i figured it sort of relates, since roger had such a great chance at winning the first set, blew it, still played brilliantly for long stretches afterwards, and then completely went off the tracks after blowing those bps and then getting broken in the 4th

I don't think Nadal cares if his play is boring. He's the undisputed king of clay, and he's not going to change anything quickly on that surface. Quit hatin'.
