Maybe 99% was an exaggeration, but if you look at the total pool of tennis players and the level that Nadal plays at(simply because of his athleticism), you have to give the guy credit. Not to mention he's won 9 slams, and probably(as others have mentioned) will probably end up as one of the top 5 players of all time(even if his career is cut short).

Also I still don't get how Murray being on a hot streak invalidates my post.

well lets see, seabas pointed this out to me, since like 2005 AO only like 3 or 4 players have won a slam that isnt nadal/fed

so to have won 1 slam let alone 9 is ridiculous, but to have won 9 in an era with argubly the goat playing... thats unbelievable.

djok for example was prob an unlucky bastard in that he was born at a terrible time, say he was born 5 years earlyer he prob woulda had 5+ slams.

speaking truth =/= nit picking

because you're saying the guy deserves praise for doing what 7 of 8 players did

nobody has gone through a stretch of more intimidating tennis than what federer did between 2004 and 2008. He has been to at least the QF in every grand slam for the past like 7 years. Nadal craps out because he gets hurt. You act like winning 4 matches in a grand slam is an accomplishment, fed has done it every year since I was in high school.

Nadal will not go down as one of the greats unless he gets himself healthy.

hey fuck id be pretty happy to get a wilcard to a grand slam but wateva

ur comparing arguebly the best achievment of arguebly the goat to 1 of nadals many achievements, im on feds side but ur stupid and for that il back nadal in this fight.

wanna compare? find me the last time federer went a whole year without defeat in a grandslam then come talk to me.

And between Wimbledon 05 and AO 08 Federer won all but two majors, both French Opens. Nadal has never been able to maintain that level of tennis for that time period

And to all the nadal fans, keep in mind the "king of clay" lost in the 4th round to soderling and then started claiming all these injuries. Federer was "dethroned" at wimbledon in the finals, where he should have been. he has the skill to reach where he is supposed to reach in majors.

i didnt read this til just now but you said

Nadal will not go down as one of the greats unless he gets himself healthy.

kk i give up.

he wont go down, he alredy is, hes alredy reguarded as the best clay player ever. that in itself gives him auto greatness

then the fact he has 9 slams, thats some greatness for u right now

nadal could retire tomoro and go down as 1 of the greatest to ever play.

i give up.

Nadal is already top 10 slams all time. So even if he doesn't get himself healthy he has that, plus he'll probably win Roland Garros at least a couple more times, moving him even further up the list. I'm thinking you don't even play tennis, because making it through junior tournaments is hard enough, for most pros making a QF of a GS IS a big accomplishment. Just because Federer dominated for 4 years doesn't automatically invalidate everyone else's efforts.

I've already admitted that Federer is currently GOAT, so just because there isn't another person to overtake him, they're automatically not great tennis players?

and ur trying to tell me nadal wont go down as a great cause he hasnt done everything federer has done?

well fed hasnt got a golden career slam

nadal does

fed hasnt got as many wins at the french as nadal

nadal has more slams then fed did at this age

im not gonna say nadal is greater then fed, fed to me will go down as the goat when hes retired, but nadal would retired tomoro and be 1 of the greatest, i dunno how u define greatness but it sounds like you think that if u havent got as many slams as fed then ur not a great. well fuck me that just narrowed the list down

nadal is alredy 1 of the games greats at 24, nn for ur hating on my thread

All I was pointing out was your failed logic that Nadal deserves praise for reaching a QF before bowing out. This year, this AO, 6 of the 8 players did it. One (Fed) struggled in one match. And one (the czech dude) got in based on god only knows what. You play weird tennis and you trip guys up. But Murray put an end to that last night.

murray is shit, wanna talk about players that wont go down as greats u got 1 right there, he wont win a slam in his career.

you contridict urself by using that fed reaching quarters achievement then saying nadals isnt an achievement, i dunno where this is coming from either, lets be honest had nadal not been injuried he woulda made the final.

i dont understand what ur trying to say tbh u contridict urself everywhere, all u want us to do is achknowledge how shit murray is it seems...
