Roger played very well today. He came out with a game plan, was never too passive, backhand held up very well and the serve was phenomenal as it was the entire week, especially the slice serve out wide on the deuce court. Slightly disappointing that he played that somewhat poor service game in that second set to essentially give the set away, but a win is still a win and it was well deserved.

Nadal was a bit flat, but that has nothing to do with Federer. Plus, more credit to Federer's endurance since he has played Shanghai/Stockholm/Basel/Paris back to back while Nadal had those couple weeks of tournaments off. It is really stupid for hardcore Rafael fans to discredit Federer's win by claiming Nadal was tired. Damn, it isn't Federer's fault, and how can they not get the fact that Nadal had a 5 week break or whatever prior to the event while Federer didn't. Are they saying Nadal doesn't have endurance to play 5 best of 3 set matches over a 7 day period so it isn't fair that he had a long match against Murray?

I think the surface benefited him the most patrick was talking about it on the commentary how nadal's loopy forehand was kicking up so high against his backhands

but he did a great job dictating the points

I wish Eurosport actually had the decency to show men's tennis once in a while, they can't afford it here in Norway, so all they show is women's tennis.
I allready gave up watching tennis on TV, except for the Grand Slams.. I'd like to see this one though, sounded like a good match!

AGREED. Federer totally took advantage of the court with his swinging serve out wide on the deuce side. Nadal had tons of trouble returning that

That+ the ball didn't bounce nearly as high as it does outdoors, this is where Federer got the huge edge,he loves that backhand.
