you speak of goals and bliss upon individual success.  and touch on how it may be more difficult to embody a team concept and develop cohesive within a group/organization.
neglecting that it may in fact be a higher feeling of elation when success is reached in team sports than a 1v1 type thing.
its one thing to beat a player in straight sets, but its a whole different ball game when you make 7 or 8 different people look like pylons all day.

as far as the best play singles, well most of the best also play doubles... im not disputing that they'd rather see glory in singles though

i didnt like your phrase because it boils team concepts down to its very elements. almost hinting at inferiority
if you hadn't noticed i'm a team sport enthusiast, though i can admire the work and talents in any sport

My favorite sport is soccer but tennis is second. I prefer team sports actually and love playing doubles. Tennis is a game that you can really vary the pace based on how hard you want to play and you can play it until a very old age.

There’s a lot of reasons to love football. The ones that come to mind right off bat are the unbelievable sense of camaraderie. Bill Walsh used to tell us, “What greater thing in the world than people from all different backgrounds, all different races, all different religions coming together. And you go out there on Sunday, and everyone’s on the same team.’ I think it’s the purest game in the world. Every game is a challenge physically and mentally. It calls on you coming together as a unit and trusting your teammates. - John Lynch

That quote is quite a bit over the top as the "physical/mental challenge" is incomparable, especially to tennis where the game is 80%+ mental and physical wise, it is one of the most physically difficult sports in the world today since you don't get long breaks unlike in team sports and you're out there running around for 2 hours oftentimes.

But seriously, individual sports affect the mind so differently. It is only you out there, no one to depend on your outcome except your opponent. I have played on several varsity fútbol and basketball teams in high school so I know how it feels winning on a team. However, when you win a tennis tournament, the feeling is absolutely insane. All the glory for just yourself.

Glory is only a figment or sensation of our success. There's no barometer to measure it.
So for me to say, more glory is reached because of competing vs 10 other guys, as opposed to 1, is not out of the question.

I understand when you win an individual sport like tennis, you ( and maybe your coach/family/nation etc ) are the only ones receiving glory.
But does that glory hold more volume than when there's 10 other competitors attempting to encompass perfect cohesiveness? It's all debatable.

And it's not like tennis stands alone in your argument. I wouldn't be surprised if MMArtists feel more glory when winning ( not necessarily the new age MMA, but the grand prix and old school. )
