won 6-4, lost 2nd in close tiebreak, and then won 3rd set 6-4... we played 3 sets and now im so tired

inb4 3 sets is for pussies, aka youve never played tennis

most proud of getting good repetitions on slice and had some damn good aces

Best of three certainly isn't for pussies, lol. In today's game, three sets is very reasonable, since the game has become so physical and points are pretty long (at least compared to the past).

You're kidding me right? So they had all these baseliners in the 80s and 90s? Last I checked, before the 2000s, serve and volley was still the way to go. Everyone is a baseliner now, it isn't like the 90s where only a select few on the top were baseliners or the 80s, where less than a handful were great baseliners. Did you even watch tennis before Federer and Nadal..?

In general, points are shorter now on average

Once again, compared to what? They certainly aren't shorter compared to fast court tennis of the 80s and 90s. Are you really going to tell me that serve and volleyers produced 50 shot rallies?

I mean just ask any old man how slow and physical the game has gotten. Today's game is virtually impossible to play if you aren't fit. Balls fly through the air much more quickly, especially on serves, and spins are at a totally new level even compared to the 90s, but the game itself has become extremely slow. Surfaces have become slower, balls have become the size of grapefruits, etc.

Yes, you still had great baseliners back in the day like Borg, Lendl, Connors, and so forth, but essentially everyone is playing this game like that today unlike a handful of them back then.
