I like playing on clay for my actual swing mechanics(I play a heavier topspin forehand), but I hate moving on it. I always slide all over the place, and kick shit up into my eyes and in my shoes haha.

Ya personally I'm more of a hard hitter with a short swing and a 1 handed backhand so I love faster courts. I also LOVE hitting the ball low off the ground and the ball typically jumps high as hell on clay.

That leads into why Nadal says he has such an issue at US open, kinda.
He beleives the lighter and faster balls create more of an issue for him. I think when he hits a ball on hard court, it goes 18 inches less then him normal hit on clay.

Yeah, the topspin doesn't "bite" into the court as much, the ball skids and has a lower trajectory. Topspin hitters have less speed, and less advantage on depth of court. Heavy flat servers, and heavy flat hitters(like DelPo) get more of an advantage here because you get rewarded for hitting as hard as you can, and not playing a spin shot because of the ball/court combo.
