how does it work? I haven't played in awhile and came back to plat4 0 points with demotion shield. played a game so I don't demote and won but still have this exclamation icon saying shield about to expire. can anyone provide some insights with this? thanks !

The shield comes with a color, starting from yellow (lowest level) to red (highest level).

It indicates how down your MMR is dropping, if it's yellow probably you're playing in Gold 1 ELO, if it turns red you're playing in Gold 3 - Gold 4 ELO.

When it's yellow it's just an alert, when it becomes red it means you're going to be demoted because your MMR is too low for your current rank.
