Hi, played vs Mordekaiser yesterday.

I was slowly getting a lead on him and after my first item + 2x Dorans Blade decided to 1vs1, but he nearly killed me. (I even had 450gold MR item)

How should I have played this differently? (also yeah I failed 1 Q, but other than that, I still could not kill him there)

Is he just that strong midgame?
Do I have to sidestep 2 or more Q's?

you ate everything that was thrown at you by champ that reduces your damage, maximum health, armor, mr, and gives it to himself as well as having an AOE bork passive on steroids scaling with his ap.
nothing new or weird in here.

Morde is strong, but not op. his abilities are easy to dodge mostly

Bait out his E and only do short trades with him until he backs or is low enough to all in.

He's basically AP Darius in lane*

he landed everything on you, he had conqueror proced, you kept fighting him when he had his shield max'd and R up even tho you didn't have E or W up, you used your R to dodge damage then run when you should be using it to max your # of autos... like, c'mon. having a lead doesn't mean you can turn your brain off and assume you will auto win, specially not vs a champion who has to duel to be of any use.

I know one and only setup to play Cami vs Morde : PTA + Taste of blood/Ravenous Hunter

Start Q, Max E, rush Executioner + Ravenous Hydra (or Malmortius if he gets ahead)

The Trinity rush vs a Mordekaiser is a self-bait

Btw yeah, as someone said, at 14:30 you decided to allin with his passive up and conqueror/shield fully stacked, not a good idea
