depends on how confident you are in your mechanics. for both of those champs at least but they're very strong.
as far as ease of use to learn top.
good tanks that you can pick up pretty quick:

maokai
set
good juggernauts you could pick up quick:
Garen
Darius
good scaling carries to play:
Nasus
Jax
mord
both Irelia and Fiora can take over games and if you really like their playstyle there isn't a reason to not learn them. but their learning curve requires a lot of games to really understand your limits.

some match ups you do want to be the bully and shuv wave after wave in to his tower for plates
top lane is a island.. with no running water tp paper..
