I see these in a lot of guides

Sunfire cape



Asking for myself, seem like really bad items to build on him in comparison to what’s available


I could maybe see the argument for a sunfire cape. Explain the others to me.



Against pretty much any comp as sett you are gonna build


Doran shield
Dead mans
Cleaver
steraks
Merc treads/swifties


And that’s against any comp. and so then you get to choose between


Randuin
Titan hydra
Spirit visage
gA



In no scenario would building any of The top items be better than a combo of the bottom ones, yet I consistently see them in build guides and sets in game running them.


What am I missing?

Scimitar provides safety on a champion that lacks any good engage tools, he has to run in face first so the cleanse helps a ton
Frozen mallet turns you into a sticky bastard, one punch and they are forced to flash or get pummeled to death
trinity gives well rounded stats as well as speeds up the pummeling
sunfire, same as above but AoE

both build paths are correct ways to play him, the top one would be better suited against a tanky team with good cc
the lower would be good against a team that just wants to burst you out

situations change tho and you may need to hybridize the build to either or

P sure triforce is the meta rush on him rn but I could be mistaken. Qss/sunfire don’t make sense in any situation. Mallet could be a solid trolll item if you’re rly far ahead

TriForce seems bad. Seems like you should be building CDR and Tankiness on this champ. His fists do true damage which is nice but you’re going to essentially engage fights, put down massive CC, and then use your W after the team all in on you. Maybe I’m wrong idk I’m only a high gold player. But this champ seems busted and tank seems to be optimal build for him. Maybe I’ll have to try scimitar mallet sunfire etc

If you build swifties/dead man/Q you’re gonna be able to gap close on any champ in the game

Triforce is good on him because it gives you phage procs as well as sheen procs. Sett tends to spam his abilities making good use of it, so this item is ideal if you're going a split push route

cleaver is good but dishes out less dmg, so you're more of a tank than a bruiser with this path. Also really good if your team is mostly AD

I think we should revisit this with the nerfs, cuz he feels...decent but a lot weaker.

sett is pretty variable

also, shield bash is fucking bonkers on him
