Karthus you just need to have good awareness and be able to preemptively hit the spots you know they will go to.

Sol seems like a shit champ, never played him XD

sol requires a great deal of macro play
if you are good macro wise then pick him up but if you are not then i dont recommend playing
like i float in gold, could grind to plat if i wanted but i dont fuck with a-sol

to make your sol support roams be global, permanant and danagerous

not forget about the Karthus items
1) cooldown (ultihunter is must, can even go for 45cdr cap)
2) penetration (sorc shoes rush, and a voidstaff after cdr-cap)
3) AP (nn movespeed/mana sustains/sustain/tank)
4) spell effects (Liandry)

Treat Karthus like Kassadin/Xerath, but don't play too passive early, actually. Your Q delay and slow missile speed means you lose AA trades early game, but your low mana cost and cooldown means you need to play aggressive. Freeze when you can, don't use autos to trade with unless you cast q first and backstep to avoid their 2 AA trade. Karthus is both early and late game but with massive trade weakness until the late game. Your job late is activate E, cut off enemy with W and get in as many Q's as you can. You'll get focused by all ranged/tank champs. Late game your ult should be almost killing AD champs, they need GA/zhonya/spell shield or they become useless.
