I'll be honest, this was my first experience upgrading a minecraft server - I've always done half-life/steam servers and never have I been tied down by a file with read/write permissions higher than me as the renter of the server which caused the hangup. If they didn't have asinine restrictions the file would have over-written itself and we'd be in business.

The fact that there was already a properties file there, and I can't do anything to it (ie. change the name, delete it, move it to another directory) also behaves the same way within the server meaning it won't over-write it like it wants to. All-in-all I just need those assholes to delete the file and message me when they're done. Zzz

If I had permission, which they don't give I guess because they don't want you to fuck it up, It would've overwritten and we'd be GTG. :"(

i agree these are all cool additions, but i wouldn't say any of them make or break the game.

chmod shows it as having full "xxx" or "777" permissions on FTP. You just simply can't budge the file, move it, rename it, or delete it, gg go figure.

You can edit it from their web UI if I go into my server CP, and then go to Config's, but with the new installation of the 1.3.1 dev it wants a fresh version of the server-properties which is access restricted by the company. It's all just so fucking unnecessary. Like, the server won't finish it's installation process because it wants to over-write the server-properties configuration and the company has the permissions negated. lawl if i do this again next month ie extend I'll probably backup and switch providers.

weird... they must have the file locked or something, you can't contact their support to make the change for you?

I figured in the time it'll take for me to get a support ticket answered I'll attempt to do a full-reinstall wipe one more time, First just to test the 1.3.1bukkitdev and if i can get it working ill go ahead and copy all the world/plugin shit.

Could someone try connecting with their 1.3.1 client.
