As for the akali part, I have no idea.
I see they have quite different play styles on akali.
To say one is better than the other though....I don't see how that could be proven, or unproven.
They both apparently work for that particular person.

I'm gold and that was my main playing against people on my level. He's diamond and playing against golds, which are 600elo below him.

He played in eu we against some silvers/golds on a website which you could play 1v1.

I remember he was vayne playing against silver draven. GOT WRECKED SO HARD UNTIL THE POINT MY EYES WERE BLEEDING.
