the whole reason i dont get boots is because ashes normal attacks early game dont hit for shit
so you use volley to harass. it has a huge range and you dont need boots to get close to use it
21/0/9 for 10% crit damage when you crit so much with ashe, while 20 damage isnt much its alot more than 4% cdr and some mana
as a ranged carry you shouldnt need to spam your spells, u just need to right click

dorans blade is good on ashe
and no i dont run cdr or dodge on ashe, and i dont run something else useless
such as 2 sets of mana regen runes

What? Doesnt make sense.

We have diferent playstyles.
Ive played the style your describing, and I prefer the one im playing now.

your so critical of everyone on this forum.

the difference between doran + health and boots + x3 health is not huge. they both provide staying power and they both enhance your harass (imo boots > doran)
the difference between 1 set of mana regen runes, 2 sets or no sets.. More mana = more skills = more damage. hes gonna get an extra volley here and there. ashe eats up a pretty good amount of mana early-mid. not crazy to put on runes to compensate.
dodge and cdr runes arent useless. I dont use either on ashe, but to call them "useless" is just bias and shortsighted.

Just open your mind for once and consider other peoples opinions before shutting them down and explaining your own. I bet you havent even tried most of the concepts he presents.

also worth noting that some of the ideas you bring forward make sense as well.

Yeah I think his idea definitly make sense, as do mine - they're just diferent playstyles.

Doesn't matter which way you go around the bush, your still going to get to the other side.

Volley is your main source of dps late game. It has a 3 second cooldown and it needs to be used EVERYTIME its up. Not only it does additional damage, it spreads around and slow everyone. It also prevents you from getting closer to their team. Against some champions, you can get close enough to auto-attack (garen for instance) but you just can't against others like veigar, annie or anything with a cc or slow.

Also, I'd start with a dorans blade instead of boots. Boots can be nice because you end up saving 435 gold for your late game items, but it gives you that much less survivability for the early game. Hell, some very advanced players get 2, maybe 3 of them before they start working on the bf sword. I'd say it's just a VERY cost efficient item if you're playing a low economy game (if you're getting ganked / zoned / need to leave your lane for whatever reason).

One last thing I'd like to mention is never ever upgrade your boots to boots of swiftness before your bf sword. As the game goes on, the ability to farm big item pieces gets harder. That's why alot of casters start with a needlessly large rod. Getting 650 gold is easy but 1850 isn't. I'd also go as far as saying get your last whisper before your +3 boots. You don't benefit as much from the upgrade, it goes 50+20+20. So you end up paying about double for just an extra 10 movement speed. I'ts a good trade but you don't need it that much early in the game. Just focus on getting lvl 9 and volley everytime it's up.

red : armor pen
yellow : mana regen
blue : mana regen
quint : armor pen

21/0/9 or 9/0/21 : both works depending your play style

doran sword, maybe doran shield if you're gonna face a good physical dps at mid
(meki pendant is dumb)

rush bf sword, brutalizer if your farm is bad

I would take QSS over banshees veil IN ANY SITUATION WHERE YOU WOULD TAKE A DEFENSIVE CASTER ITEM...
QSS makes it so YOU can control when you remove the debuffs, anybody with any skill will use a skillshot or single target pure damage shot on your veil then you are shit outa luck if you get stunned/slowed

Are you accepting constructive critism?

If so, I main Ashe so here we go;

I would almost never get any other boots except Merc Treads, reason is that with frost shot theres no way you're gonna get caught if you remember the max distance for your auto attack between you and your enemy.

Too much mana regen runes. You would get scooped up by nukers early game. (i.e. Vlad, Nidalee, even Trist) You need some sort of life. I prefer yellow life scales + quints flat health. I would prefer SOME mana regen though. Blue slots are your best choice there.

Clair on Ashe? I wouldn't recommend it. Hawkshot + wards from other players are PLENTY. I prefer exhaust/teleport or even flash for your second spell. Ghost is a MUST.

Why boots of speed first? You're just gonna be last hitting right? No need mobility early. Grab a doran's shield for lane staying.

I would not finish your 2nd level boots unless you're having a really hard time getting away from other players, even so merc treads>swiftness coz the 40% reduction is so godly. I usually farm BFsword under 7 mins. If you get 45-50 creeps I believe that = to a BF sword. Not including assist/kill gold as well.

I would go with Volley then Frostshow, just to tell your enemy. Hey bitch, I got this extra slow so back the fuck off. People don't really gank TOO early into the game. I would only get hawkshot 2nd if the enemy was a shaco or yi.

With your summoner spells you're basically building a Ashe that;
1) has weak early damage so you'll get harassed more instead of being the harassER.
2) You build for a support Ashe instead of a Carry or even a support/carry hyb
3) 22/0/8 all day

then again everyone has a different play style, very pretty guide but thats all. Could be used for lower Elo
