it depends on the person, of course
LoL players prefer their casual game
whereas HoN players, such as myself, enjoy playing in tournaments and playing competitively
it's like asking whether you like imbalanced games like mortal kombat for fun with your friends, or participating in tournaments at your local arcade with street fighter

edit: yes, i have played LoL
i cannot stand its mechanics, and the summoner trees/runes overall difference from dota make it unbearable to play

so everyone doesn't make the same builds?

it adds variety
once again, it's just how i feel.

how's that?
builds are situational
having one same hero be on both teams is removing from variety, imo
yes, trees/runes do add another element of variety, but at the same time they're removing from balance

and once again, it's based on player preference, as it adds more of an RPG feel to it

yeah it feels like you gain more per game, than with HoN

i just think if you have a all cd ez on the other team and he went AP
then all pen or something ez on my team, it just makes it vary from who you pay. imo

mm when i played HoN i went the same build every game for my heros, with maybe one minor item difference after the solid core items, that the game usually ended before completing...

LoL I differ my builds based on who im against..

idk...just thought id add it in...

once again, there's a huge difference in competitive play and casual play
my friends play street fighter and spam jabs and uppercuts, just button mashing like noobs, and then go back to mortal kombat where they know how to throw scorpion harpoons (is it a harpoon? his "COME HERE!!!" move), liu kang fireballs and bicycle kicks, etc
and then fail to understand how i enjoy the play of street fighter
when i play good players, it gets really fun

that's how you guys see it, imo

honestly, to each his own, and if you guys have fun playing LoL then play it
because LoL is free, it's an obvious choice for anybody who doesn't have $30, or to someone who just prefers a game that you can play more casually
to me, who has won prizes playing DotA, HoN is the obvious choice since it is DotA, as there are prize tournaments and a very large and growing competitive scene
