works o 5v5 in mid , rush mid with minions, zerg tower and go to lanes
really demoralizing for the other team

just realized you said dorans ring was bad

easily the MOST gold efficient item in the game

but they dont get to farm gold which is huge

What does it form into

Dorans shield has the most survivability power out of all the items

and BEGINNING items are all about survivability

Dorans shield is useful for all it's stats till lvl 18 or until inventory is full and you can sell it for a higher costing item

I still don't recomend any Dorans items for players.. You can always resell and get like 65%-70% of your money back, but I would rather have a pre-build item like a mana gem for the mana for extra early harass on my heroes rather than the health. Since I can just get 2 health pots to make up for the regen, and you shouldn't specifically NEED to have the regen.. The life.. Maybe.. The regen.. No.

Just my thoughts..

My mains are ::

Gragas, Corki, Shaco, Zilean, and Heimerdinger.. They are the only heroes I own, and I play each just as well as the other normally. So I have a bit of a range when it comes to heroes, and Dorans is never on my list for starting builds. =P

My fav is my big fat drunken mess but i do get dorans about 7 out of 10 times just b/c it gives me the life and a lil ap to start with, Gragas has a decent amount of life but as a fatass slow melee he's ezily slapped around in a lane and the doran gives him the room to avoid grabbing a health potion and instead take a mana and just keep spamming that barrel and drunken rage. For all my other chars Karthus, Yi, Sivir, TF, Trist, Annie i never get any dorans items at all for the same reason of going straight for an item from lvl 1. It may cost u a little bit of survivability early on but in the long run its very worth it as long as you play cautious and don't get cocky and go for an early gank with to many enemy creeps(or a bad lane partner) around.

This for sure. I have used Doran's shield to begin with each time I morde and it stands up for me fine because you never realize how much survivability it adds until you try it, but also morde can take hits on his health shield while the regen make's his actual hp regen so also it could be just a great synergy for the way i play morde. It's a great item that you can begin with. this thread could use a sticky
