So I'm understanding correctly - you never climbed beyond D4, and then decided to intentionally derank yourself 1 week before season end?

You don't have 30K fg to bet. But sure, I'd be willing to make some kind of fg bet on that - boosting multiple fresh/low MMR accounts to diamond, playing solo, on each role.

yeah cause I couldn't care lesss ??? I have many acc, and what do I get, something that said what rank I was at the end of season?

I try when I am getting paid my brother

You must have a lot of time if you can play 700 ranked games on just one of your many accounts, and purposely derank yourself.

I'm down to do a bet if you can come up with FG. Might be an easy way for you to earn FG if you're playing this much and not finding any boost jobs.

What would you say is the old 1500 elo or season 1-2 gold is today?

I feel like low gold is pretty much high silver from old seasons.

i dont have any data to really compare but both my friend and myself started around season 4 and we were both bronze (i believe it was season 4, i have a bronze or maybe it was silver? icon), he plays a lot (maybe 3 x) more than i do and hes only peaked silver 2 currently while i peaked d3 at my highest before being deranked this season

Side note though u should be able to boost from all roles lol. Or at least have flexible champs that you can spread into other lanes.

S2 1500 around mid gold
1900 mmr season 3 before rank system changed was pretty close to playing d5 ish.

Grag mid was hella fun to play lol.

Honestly alot less things to worry about before. Alot more broken champs nowadays. I feel like the mechanics have gotten better as people can practice them more and learn more champ specific knowledge.

However game knowledge and using brain in game still seems lacking

but from a logical standpoint, gold and below ELOs are almost certainly inflated given the "free series win" mechanic that riot implemented so low ELO players would enjoy the game more (feel a sense of progression and higher chance to get rewards)

This is hella true.

They basically just condensed the ratings so people felt better about themselves. Anyone can hit g4 nowadays with suboptimal win rates
They didn't want the players below 1000elo rating to quit.

To clarify since the wording was shit but the question was answered anyway.

I mean where on the scale Iron 4 to challenger would 1500 elo be.

With that addition of free promo wins as well as the removal of rank 5 the spread is a bit more than it used to be.

The consensus seems to be that gold 4 today isn't quite "as good" as a season 1-2 gold player was.
However there is more to learn today, more to look out for, and the bottom end has had 6 seasons of pro meta gameplay to watch and learn from.

I don't think i'm a high elo player but this season i feel like one in silver.

I've never peaked past gold 1 and i doubt in 1 season i've gone from a gold player to d4 player.

I'll agree, since i feel that it is easier to get gold today.

To me it means less. The free skin cutoff should be raised a bit. it used to mean something now its just like hey you aren't completely trash at the game but you still suck. here's a free skin.

i mean who the fuck cares about that skin, honestly?

victorious usually looks like shit. it was never an indication of skill for people who were actually good at the game.

AND if it actually works in retaining players? why not? i dont want the game to die.

ya the skin is ugly.

some of them were nicer. morg/sivir/mao

to more than 50% of the player base that skin was an indication of skill though.

“For people that were actually good at the game”

Since when was 50th percentile a positive indicator for anything in life anyways? SAT scores? Gross earnings? 50th percentile is trash in all aspects of life

i honestly think this is a major issue. if you're going to be a top caliber player, you need to stay on top of patch notes and changes. and with a ~150 champ pool, that becomes incredibly cumbersome.

league hasn't scaled any of their "controls" as their game evolved. in the beginning, you had like 5 bans for 60 champs (12%) to mitigate counters / overpowered changes / general lack of knowledge. now the champion pool has more than doubled and you still only have 5 bans (3%). On top of that, the "honor system" discourages communication, so you have even less cooperation from players. what a shit show.

From the 15 th percentile the 50th sure looks good.

From the 99th 50 looks pretty... average.

I wont argue semantics, good to me and good to you are very subjective.

I don't even think gold is good, but an iron player probably does.

Its all a matter of perspective.

My gf and I are both over 100k per year, placing us (together) in the 98th percentile seperate we're in the 96th each.

Much like league there is less of a difference between the bottom 10 % and i, as there is between myself and the top 1%

To the average person, my family, my friends, myself. I'm "good", but to jeff bezos i'm just a broke ass bum.

I think if you're better than 50% of everyone at anything thats considered good.

Otherwise where does your cutoff start.

Arbitrarily wherever you end up?

If you're a master player then getting masters+ is good.

Or if you're a d2 player same thing.

Yet a grand master and a d1 player would say otherwise in both those cases.

Just a thought.
