best friend in tech school liked it alot since early season 1 and he had like 4 of us make accounts and play with him. I didn't like it nearly as much as the custom sc1 game temple siege but it was ok. I really liked 3s. Playing teemo to counter tryn/yi was fun, revive shen on 3s gave enough MS to run back and revenge kill LOL and the extra hp bonus was nice. tiger udyr was legit for early jungle/early dragon kills (on the 3s map)
one of the main draw backs for me was you could have infinite deaths. in temple siege, if any one person dies 3 times, they are out of the game. I had also played a similar game that had infinite deaths allowed and that was a huge draw back in comparison to temple siege too. I started to embrace it a little with troll stuff like revive though and I do remember one somewhat early season 1 game where I had died like 10 times already and was just having a lot of fun doing it/having close fights. My friend was just like wtf dude stop feeding. I'm like what????? I can die as much as I want and it barely even matters.
there was also the lotr hero wars/dynasty warriors custom games way of dealing with deaths -- they made it interesting by letting you choose a different unit. Ofc you'd be buying upgrades so if you bought marine upgrades, you'd wanna stick with units with the same upgrade like firebat at least, unless you were saving your money or something.
-- thinking back on it, league's options overall still aren't as interesting despite having so many more champions to choose from. TFT definitely has some really interesting stuff to it though.
