You typically want to find champs you can get 55+% wr in order to climb by grinding.
Anything less you'll be incredibly frustrated.

Keep in mind there's different types of supports as well, figure out what your play style is and work with that, ie my play style is control or kill lane depending on my team/adc comp so I like to use either Morgana, Leona or Brand. If you're not as mechanically skilled yet try a sustain support like Nami, Raka or even Janna. Zyra is a good control and kill support as well, but she doesn't suit me kinda clunky on delayed spells..

Mechanical part ain't my issue, after D2 PvP for years, that's least of my trouble.
It's just game knowledge and rotations that I'm weak with.
And my main pick in this season is karma. 57% winrate in 140 rankeds so far iirc.
Might need to find a second pick. Usually I go with Lulu since I can play her both defensively and aggressively, kind of like karma. She's got good poke, but yet amazing kit to save adc or provide cc.
However, that's just theory. I suck on Lulu and got 50% winrate in 10 games that karma was picked/banned in

Thats what Ive been doing for years now. Of course youll be flamed by "enemy missing" question marks every time they die "useless, lagging? " etc

Mute pings instead. Gold doesn’t know how to use pings aside from spamming enemy missing on your dead body.

This exactly, what separates a gold player from plat is using yellow pings vs red pings

I’m gonna start spamming red pings on dead bodies so riot adjusts my MMR although I personally like to spam laugh or dance if I’m near the body.
