Q) How does the ranked system work in season 3?
A) There are 6 total tiers - Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Challenger. In each tier, there are 5 divisions (except Challenger). You must win ranked games to progress through your divisions within a tier.
Once you reach 100 league points, you will enter a best of 3 promotional series which you must successfully complete to move up into the next division. Once you are at the highest division (Division I), you will enter a best of 5 promotional series. If you are succesful, you will be promoted to the next tier. Please click http://riot-web-static.s3.amazonaws.com/images/news/January_2013/New_League_System/LofL_IG_EN_NA.png for more information.

Q) What happens if I fail my promotional series?
A) You will be set back to 70-90 league points depending on the amount of wins in your promotional series.

Q) Can I be demoted if I don't play well?
A) You may be demoted from your division, but you will never be demoted from a tier unless you don't play any ranked games for a long period of time. If you do get demoted, you will start with 75 league points in your new division. i.e. (Gold IV with 0 LP starts in Gold V with 75 LP)

Q) How much League Points will I lose if I decay?
A) Your loss will differ based on your tier.
■ Bronze - 0
■ Silver - 10
■ Gold - 25
■ Platinum - 35
■ Diamond - 50

Q) When does elo decay begin?
A) 3 Weeks after your last ranked game. This has changed before and is subject to change again.

Q) It's been 2 weeks since my last solo queue ranked game. Can I just played on ranked 5s and refresh my decay timer?
A) No. Ranked 5s will refresh your ranked 5s decay timer. You must play on solo queue to refresh the elo decay.

Q) I'm in Malzahar's Captains. Will I only be matched up with people from my tier?
A) No. The tier just represents your rank in the new season 3 ranked system. It's a way to view your progress. You can technically be matched up with anyone.

Q) So if I'm Gold, could I be matched up with Silver and Platinum players?
A) Yes.

Q) I'm only gaining 4-5 league points per win, but losing 15 per loss. Why?
A) League of Legends matches you with other players based on MMR. This means that Riot Match Making system believes that your true elo is lower than what is currently displayed. Continue to win and your MMR will rise. Lose and your MMR will drop. If you win enough, you will eventually gain more league points per win and lose less per loss.

Q) What is MMR?
A) MMR is also known as Match Making Rating. This is your "hidden elo". MMR is used to match players because Riot does not want a bad player to get a lucky string of games and get promoted to the next division based on sheer luck. Vice versa, Riot also does not want a good player to get an unlucky string of games and demoted to the previous division.

Q) I'm only in Gold, but I'm being placed in games where everyone is Platinum. This is unfair!
A) That is because your MMR is high. This is a good thing. The system believes you are at a platinum level and wants to put you there. Naturally, if you are Gold and are being placed in games where everyone is Silver, your MMR is low.

Q) Do I lose League points if I dodge games?
A) Yes. You currently lose 10 league points per dodge. If you dodge during your promotional series, you will take a loss for that game.

Q) How does duo queue work?
A) Very similar to last season. If you duo queue, the opposing team will automatically consist of higher elo/mmr players to negate the duo queue advantage. However, there can no longer be more than 1 duo queue per team.

Q) Why do I get less league points as I'm getting close to my promotional matches?
A) Since tier upgrades are permanent in the League System, you have to demonstrate you can maintain a higher level of play before the system will allow you to start a Promotion Series. This is especially true for Tier promotional matches.

Q) What is Challenger Tier?
A) Challenger tier is the highest tier possible and has no divisions. Due to the competitive nature, there is no elo decay in Challenger, but you may be overtaken by others as they rise in Challenger points.

Wait, I missed when they changed decay timer from 4 weeks to 3 weeks. How long ago did this happen?

Never Trust
They will do anything in their power to not blame each other even if it's obviously their fault

how many games do you need to fall from Silver III to Silver IV?

how can you rise your MMR and in what is it based?

1) If you're at 0 LP i think you drop down if you lose 3 in a row
2) win games, raise it, lose games, lower it
