this pretty much, I didn't mind modern masters because I prefer those formats so letting others join them is better for the health of the game.

the extended universe stuff made me quit paper completely.. I don't want to see rick from walking dead, chun-li, or transformers. If they were similar to unglued with silver borders fine. But they are tourney legal AND they make them busted so you HAVE to buy them. Guaranteed value from modern masters I was ok with but knowing if I don't buy this silly joke of a product I'm missing out on power and value (since limited time) put a bad taste in my mouth.

What i miss

the coles notes is that Hasbro for the 30th edition are releasing packs of cards that are reprints from the reserved list. not just any cards... power 9. lotus, dual lands... they also have been increasing their output of product in the form of these special packs and tie in sets and double masters and straight to store product its overwhelming the community.

They are also charging 1000 dollars literally for 4 packs so 250 per pack for this 30th anniversary pack set

The trading market has been put into a frenzy with no one being able to speculate what will happen, and prices of rare cards going crazy with many already having tailspins particularly one dual land has reportedly lost a thousand dollars of value since the announcement of this release....

especially if this is successful (comes out at the end of the month) Hasbro is going to be expected to ruin magic more and more and un ethically reprint more cards from the official reserved list. The reserved list being a list of cards that wotc promised to never reprint due to their power... in reality its due to their scarcity, but wotc was always ethical enough to not admit it, act on it, or ruin that scarcity.

particularly this has been a concern of the community since hasbro took over being a money hungry pile of garbage soulless godless corporation and all. They started releasing more and more cards with more and more partnerships with bullshit products and bullshit franchises yada yada now releasing like a new product to store every like 2 weeks ontop of the standard card sets and rotations..

So a major part of what makes magic so good and interesting even to non players is the scarcity i.e how old cards are worth thousands of dollars.., and they are temping that values destruction aka printing the mona lisa and trying to sell the copies all for crazy high prices.. So as the literal Bank of America top analysts put it, "Hasbro is killing their golden goose"..
