Im not sure this is the right spot but I have some questions about selling tix. Does it matter that I am a new player on mtgo? I do play MTG but never on mtgo and i found out i can sell tix on here as well. Basically I was planning to invest in some tix to sell on here and to use myself because I plan to start playing on mtgo. I just see people posting the age of their mtgo accounts. I wasn't sure if this was just to show they are active players who aren't looking to scam or if it was because mtgo bans newer accounts that trade high amounts of tix. I just wanna make sure I am going about this the right way and would like to make sure people are going to get what they pay for and don't receive a ban or something. Thanks in advance!

It's not that they ban new accounts that trade high amounts of tix;

New accounts usually have tix that are paid for / charged back on CC / and then trade dumped here for fg. When all is said and done, the person that bought the tix gets left holding the bag.

There have been a lot scams here recently.

Someone who plays a lot and is using an account with tournament results is more likely to have legitimately obtained the tickets themselves.

If someone is using a brand new account and some how has $10,000 USD worth of tickets, it seems likely that they were obtained fraudulently. Its harder to obtain an account with league history to do the scam on.

Having said that there have been recent scams from people with league accounts, and people with fresh accounts. It's just a risky trade unfortunately.

I see so basically people buy them fraudulently eventually see the tickets removed from the game because of the way they where paid for possibly with stolen payment info or whatever. But it is happening with older and newer accounts you say so its just all around risky. But if Im selling and I have no interest in scamming anyone I shouldn't have any issues theoretically because I only plan to sell tix not buy them from others.

If someone uses a fraudulent CC to buy tix, they can trade those tickets here for FG. Once they get the FG they can ship it back to an alt account, and the person who bought the tickets gets banned. This is more likely to occur on an account with no history.

Best case, they can open a report here to get that person banned and get their ban appealed in MTGO with a warning and the items obtained removed.

Worst case, we lose an expensive MTGO account over this and the chargeback occurs after some time passes making it too difficult to get the scammer banned. <--- This has happened, and the cases are viewable on the front page of this form.

You're going to have a hard time selling your tickets because of this.

I see what you mean well either way I will still try to sell some eventually Im sure its not easy to find people especially at first. I still don't see any risk on the selling side I would be obtaining mine legitimately through the game and wouldn't be buying any at all on the forums. I appreciate your time and passing along that information. I will take a look at the scams that have taken place to prepare myself a little better aswell.
