I recently sold out of d2r and I’m looking to get back into MTGO.

I want to minimize my risk of chargeback scams. I’ve reached out to some sellers who have had some tournament play. Some sellers claiming to sell their cards and move a few Hundo worth of tickets.

How can I minimize my risk? I know trade “trusted” sellers… but how can I determine who is “trusted”?

Is there a time limit on chargebacks? If they prove they bought tix 90 days ago, is that proof? If so buy $500 now, am I safe after 90 days?

Thanks

Trade users with a reasonable history here on JSP (or whatever platform you're meeting people through)
ask them for proof of their play history on MTGO (you can go to profile and see your game history)
chances are if they're a real account that's played a lot, and the user has a decent history on JSP, you're likely safe.

what do you mean by buy more?
if you do your due diligence, it's safe to buy as many as you want.
the only risk you're running is if someone chargebacks the tickets they bought from the store or something like that.

e/ as for my post history, I just don't really use jsp unless necessary, I have a ton of reputation online, feel free to add me on Disc if you'd like links.

Like. Let’s say I buy from you, then from one of the other sellers. If I get banned due to chargeback how do I know who’s at fault? One seller told me that chargebacks aren’t eligible 90days after purchase. So I was thinking maybe 90 days is safe? Seems like a risky buy here.

Whoever told you that is wrong.
You can chargeback however long your credit card company will let you. I know there's some that can do like 6 months, probably longer.
If you were to get banned for chargeback - Wizards would straight up tell you if you opened a ticket and asked. Happened to me like 5 years ago when I was buying tickets myself.

Right, but how would I prove it was you vs the the other seller that got me banned? If I’m banned in 6 months?

When I say Wizards would tell you - I mean just that. Wizards would tell you which transaction they are suspicious of.

Basically, if you get banned for a chargeback, it's because Wizards thinks you're part of the scam - they think that someone is buying tickets, chargebacking, trading to you, so that they keep the tickets.

They'll tell you which trade they are suspicious of, and ask you for records of proof that you had bought the tickets from the chargebacker. Unfortunately, because they don't accept JSP as a legitimate trading site, you'd be fucked because they wouldn't accept this as a chain of history as you purchasing the tickets; regardless, they'd ask you for that proof, and you'd know who chargedback.

Is there any way to wash the tickets? Can I trade tickets to several accounts for rando junk then funnel it back to a main acct? Do we know how the big trade bot companies avoid this issue?

Been doing some research and it seems that Cardhoarder will not accept d2jsp tickets… They recommend looking for any sort of play history to legitimize the purchase for buyers as advise

The big bot companies have relationships with WoTC and are known as legitimate businesses so they don't have these issues.

There's no way to "wash" the tickets that I know of.
