So my wife plays MTG Arena, and I happen to have FG i'm not using. And would like to buy her some goods.

I know next to nothing about the game itself. I think the older version of the MTG game traded on tickets, wasn't sure if there were tickets in Arena or how stuff works.

Just hoping someone can spare me a minute to give a dummy answer on what I can buy in Arena on Jsp with FG. I play MTG irl, just not really on arena. So i'm familiar with MTG itself, just not how the arena/jsp economy works.

edit: reading a few threads it seems stuff might not be tradeable, but codes might be sellable. if anyone has an idea of what these sell for that would be great, will dig some more on my own.

No traceable cards so your out of luck. I could be wrong on this but I think you can only redeem a type of code once. So like a twitch con code would only work once dispite buying many.

I think the one code that everyone can use is PlayRavnica I believe it's case sensitive and typed like that. It will get you a few packs.

She should also have the first time option of gems for 4.99. It's a heavily discounted price and honestly for 5 bucks is worth it. It's a one time offer.

thanks bud that's what i'm seeing as well. I did the introductory offer of $4.99, came with a handful of packs and 2500 gems or something. which she then spend on more packs lol. not sure that was wise, seems like drafting costs gems, but i doubt she'd like drafting anyways. she plays really only mono decks and is terrible at decision making in drafts.

Right now it's just AI drafting against you not players so there's no reason to just hate pick a good card to screw another. You can almost tell what the ai are not going for and just go one direction. I expect that they will continue to update the ai in the future as well as developing a system where you can opt to draft against real players in user hosted events.

that would be cool as hell, and with the lack of trading hate drafting would be less likely.

Buying packs is the best use of gold/gems for deck building. Drafting can build your collection faster but not by much and you lose out on wildcards so unless you like to draft and you win a lot its not the way to go.

The only things you can buy with FG are like stated: One sealed entry code (but cant be used until the next sealed format is available) One Closed beta Planeswalker code (gives 3 alt art planeswalkers) and one twitch con selesnya deck. If she hasnt already done so You can try code = PlayRavnica for a free pack. Then theres a few streamers who release a code when you follow their stream, that gives 1 Ravnica pack also.

You could spend your FG on cs:go case keys or tix then sell those items to 3rd party websites for $$ then invest it into the game.
