I was thinking about this last night. For those who are familiar with poker or really any online betting system can probably understand this.

I think users should be able to host tournaments at any time, create lobbies and users have to post a buy in fee. Gold or gems, up to the host when the lobby is set up. Could have a wide range from 250 gold to 10k gems depending if it's a high roller lobby. Once the lobby fills you have 20 minutes before commencement. Could set up the lobby as winner takes all or consolidation for lasting to third and second.

It would be a constructed format only. I think it would be pretty enjoyable. The lobby could be altered on set up for bo1 or bo3 with sideboard.

What do you guys think?

Other than above I want to see more social features which they stated are coming. Mobile integration for tablet, again they hinted this was coming.

I'd like to see some trading so I don't have to use my wildcards.

I'd like to see a draft format where we don't get to keep the cards but it has a cheaper buy in and you get gold rewards. I just enjoy draft but the price is a bit much each time.

Will be in the game in less than a month when they add direct challenges.

Will never happen. And if it did you would have prices similar to paper like on Modo

Go play Modo, wont happen here as this is where they get their money.

Right, trading will never happen. The economy is designed for free to play and readily gives tons of cards. If trading was available I would have the entire collection by creating 100 f2p accounts and trading all the free cards given daily to my main account.

Could easily be regulated by having all cards earned by daily quests locked and not available for trade.

I don't know how much it would impact their monetization and if the additional draw of interaction is worth it or not.

It would just disrupt the entire economy they've spent over a year fine tuning. I dont even want trading in the game, look at mtgo where decks cost hundreds of dollars. No thanks. I have almost every card in standard rotation for under 75 bucks.

honestly after doing a bit of research my biggest hope is they get away from a micro-transactional structure for the game.

i'm not sure why they'd even need that heavy of a model. from what i can tell buying a single pack of cards is a dollar or so, maybe less. but playing the game even if you're on a winning streak takes many hours just to earn that same pack, laddering.

obviously making drafting cost gems was a smart choice, it all but guarantees that people will donate to get into drafts. but even that seems a bit greedy, drafts are already set up to be a gamble, wherein most of the entrants wont reach the number of wins to make it worth it. hearthstone was always the same thing, they take a heavy cut off of the drafts there too.

beyond that tying the physical card game and arena a bit better would be cool, promotions that i can give my wife when i got to IRL drafts. even if it's just a wildcard or a randomized quality card with a really low chance for a rare.
