Not really. You'll lose money when you buy cards for tix.

Which is just not true.

It greatly depends on the format you want to play and your win%...
It is definately possible to "go infinite" - means play for free or make a slight profit while playing.

Its harder for limited formats and easier for constructed.

i think its easy to go infinity in limited format if you play serius and already know the edition and the archetypes
oh yeah you have to spend a lot of time or play 2-3 turnaments at once
you can easy make 10-35tix + per draft with a good moneypick + turnament win

for constructed you have to spend 1-2k tix for a competitiv deck
everyone you play against did the same and the + is not realy good

Moneypicks are very rare and the EV of the packs in general Is too low. You are losing money as soon as you Open packs.

Prices for constructed are not even close to what you said.
Standard: 200-300tix
Modern: 400-600tix
Legacy: 600-700tix

And there are cheaper options which are also able to 5-0 League.

not true
the amount of moneypics depends on the edition and its not hard to get some because many dont know the value of foils
or can't wait 1-2 month

also your prices on constructed are final wins after month of playing/winning turnament over turnament
regular wins in constructed are super low
