New to magic and was wondering if I should pay the money to MTGO.
Is it a subscription based thing or is it one time payment to play MTGO forever? I know you buy packs and shit to make decks and are not given all the cards.

Also, what are tix for?

Is MTG's arena application(https://magic.wizards.com/en/mtgarena) coming out a newer version of MTGO or are they completely separate?

if you are new at mtg dont start with mtgo
it's to much win oriented and nothing for beginner

if you just need to play casual because of the good old times or to refresh you skills
you will jsut need a few $ to make a deck and than you can paly for free
for turnaments you have to pay and if you need to win you have to buy a competitiv deck

if you need to play drafts and sealds which cost 13-30 tix each you have to be realy good that you don't have to pay in again and again

i don't think that mtgo will change to this style
this look like a mix of heartstone and this magic game on steam

Oh ok. Thank you for the explanation. I want to know more about the above. Do you just pay the 10$ to make an account and spend the "few $" to make a deck and play against others casually? I think that's a great way to go if you ask me.

yes 10$ for the acc with some starter items

and than a few $ for the deck
pauper is a great format to start

the problem with the freegames is that ppl play like that
they leave games if they see they lose
they are afk
you have to wait sometimes a bit until you find a game
