I just bought a foundations beginner box for me and my son to learn the game. How long should we play with this or any tips for me and him before trying a starter box or building our own decks?

i dont see an option for commander decks? it seems to just be standard?

If you start from scratch and you are willing to play it IRL, avoid playing online, it gives you bad habits due to heavy automation.
Best is learning by playing with IRL cards, you can rely on MTGA just to check if you're doing things right.

I spent some money because i wanted to play IRL. I got the 2 commander decks and 2 standard decks.

The Main reason I got standard decks was due to one of my irl friends not liking commander. So I wanted to be able to play with him and have him teach me the standard version of the game.
The Commander Decks are for my Local Card shop they have casual nights and said that alot of people learn that way.

Friday night magic at your local game store is the way to go for paper magic. I have never had a bad experience

It's Crazy since I have made this post I have played plenty of Magic arena and been to my LGS a few times. Built my first Aristocrat deck using Mazirek and won a few Bracket 4 pods. Glad i got into it and appreciate the assistance and advice peeps!
